General Property Tax Information



The payments are due quarterly - February 1st, May 1st, August 1st, and November 1st• There is a ten-day grace period given for each installment. If the 10th falls on a weekend or a legal holiday, the taxpayer would then have until the next business day to make payment. Postmark is not accepted as a payment date, but rather when the payment is received in the office. The payments must be cash, check or money order. Please note that the Collector's office no longer has a cash drawer due to security reasons. All overpayments will be credited to future quarters. At this time, credit and debit card payments are NOT accepted.

Weymouth Township has adopted by Resolution an interest rate of 8% for the 1st $1,500.00 of delinquency and 18% for any delinquency over $1,500.00 as allowed per state statute N.J.S.A. 54:4-67.

As a statutory officer of the State of New Jersey, the collector is obligated to follow all the State Statutes regarding property tax collection which includes billing, due dates, and charging interest on delinquent taxes, no one has the authority to forgive interest on delinquent taxes.
