At the regularly scheduled Weymouth Township School Board meeting held January 19th, Weymouth Township Mayor Ken Haeser issued a Township Proclamation honoring the work and dedication of the District’s school board. Mayor Haeser, through a Resolution of the Township Committee, declared January of 2023 to be School Board Recognition Month in accord with the New Jersey School Boards Association. The Proclamation urges all community members to recognize and support the work of  “local school board members, both past and present, as we work together to advance educational opportunities for our children.”

The presentation of this Proclamation was made even more special by the number of students, parents, and teachers who were in attendance for the presentation of the monthly student achievement awards. Weymouth Township School District Board meetings are open to the public. All community stakeholders are encouraged to attend.

About Weymouth Township School District

The Weymouth Township School District (WTSD) serves public school students in grades PK-8 at Weymouth Township School, which has an enrollment of roughly 160 students as of the 2022-2023 school year. What makes this such a special little rural school tucked into the Pinelands of NJ is its strong belief in a clear vision and a devotion to focus on its purpose. WTSD recognizes that education is a journey. It ensures that the tanks of its students and travelers that pass through our halls are always filled with the fuel of knowledge. Thus nurtured, they can continue their journeys – far into the future. All members of this school community are valued and contribute to its positive school climate, including parents, grandparents, and community members. School staff works collaboratively on flexible pathways, differentiating instruction that guides students along their paths to becoming expert learners. Weymouth Township School’s purpose is rooted in an old anonymous Greek proverb, “Society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they shall never sit in.” The Weymouth Township School continues to sow those seeds in order to strengthen future generations.
